Ramadhani works as a roof builder in Chanjaani, a town in central Pemba off the coast of mainland Tanzania. He is hoping to become a dairy farmer and will use his construction skills to help build a shed for the cattle. Ramadhani is 40 years old and married with 3 children ranging in age from 8 to 13 years. He currently earns roughly $US 125 (200,000 TZS) each year.

As part of the Chanjaani group, Ramadhani is looking forward to helping to open the local branch of Pemba Fresh, the island's first dairy farm, where he and the group will care for the cattle and produce fresh milk, eventually expanding to cheese, yogurt, butter, ghee, and other products. Through dairy farming, Ramadhani has the potential to vastly increase his income and improve his daily life.
