Mwaka does not have any other work at the moment so she is looking forward to devoting her time to butterfly farming.

January 11, 2013 8:43 pm by I totally agree. We have a sroieus problem where African promoters of music are concerned. A lot education is required in this matter! I grieve when I see how my African musicians struggle to get recognition locally, talented and hardworking as they are. Then our promoters promote 'Cris Brown' with a Kora awards gig? I see my local newspaper dedicating a full double page to international celebrities while the local musician is forced by the system to resort to paying bribes for them to be featured in their local newspapers!! Questionable reasoning there! Very disturbing reasoning, I must say!

January 9, 2013 4:42 am by Very well written ! I am glad to see that many afracin bloggers are highlighting that KORA issue. I also wrote an article about american artists being paid millions of dollars to perform in countries where people are still struggling for their daily bread. It is a pity to know that some people in CI actually paid 1million FCFA to see Chris Brown performing. African event organizers are ignoring our musicians, paying them peanuts to perform but are ready to pay millions for foreigners. We need to think about the impact of such actions on our youth. Are Chris Brown, Rihanna..the role models we want our youth to look up to ? You can read my related post on that issue on my blog ! Cheers
