Rajab Mwinyi Simai is embarking on a new career as a butterfly farmer. He is 27 years old and lives in Pete, where he grew up. He is married and has a 5 month-old daughter. Currently, he farms cassava while his wife cares for their child. His income depends on the season--during good months he can earn 100,000 TZS (about US$ 60), while during slow months he earns about 40,000 TZS (about US$ 25). He is planning to tend to the butterflies in the morning and cassava in the evening.
